What is a regulator?

A regulator is a device that reduces the pressure to a fixed value after the release of the gas. The main features are the inlet pressure, the outlet pressure and the maximum rate that can pass trough the regulator. This latter property is important for the regulator. If a particular extension presupposes a usage that exceeds the maximum flow rate of the installed shutter, then the device will not work in certain circumstances.
