TRANSPORT EMERGENCY CARD (ROAD)
class2 ADR/figure :2F/G.I. No : 23/UN.No : 1965
MIXTURE OF HYDROCARBONS, LIQUEFIED , NEG, MIXTURE A/A0/A1/B/C
- LOAD
Colourless compressed liquefied gas that can be detected by odour.
Insoluble in water. Heavier than air.
- TYPES OF HAZARDS
Extremely flammable
Spilled product has a very low temperature (frostbite) and vaporises very quickly, with a serious explosion hazard.
The vaporised gas is invisible, but can form a mist in contact with moist air. The gas is heavier than air and may travel along the ground.
High vapour concentrations can lead to loss of consciousness. (oxygen deficiency)
Can form an explosive mixture with air.
An increase in pressure due to heating increases risk of rupture, which may lead to an explosion.
Skin or eye contact with the liquid can cause serious burns (frostbite).
- PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Tightly fitting safety glasses
Leather or thick textile gloves
Eyewash bottle filled with pure water
Fluorescent safety vest
Torch
- GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DRIVER
Switch off engine.
No naked flames. No smoking.
Mark off the road and warn other road users or passers-by.
Inform members of the general public and try to keep them upwind.
Notify the police and emergency services as soon as possible.
- ADDITIONAL AND/OR SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DRIVER
Proceed with these instructions only if there is no personal risk involved.
Avoid direct contact with the liquid.
Stop leaks if possible.
Use non-sparking tools and explosion-proof electrical equipment.
Let any spilled liquid vaporise.
Try to eliminate or shield all sources of ignition.
Try to warn everyone in the vicinity about the explosion hazard.
If the liquid or gas gets into open water channels or sewers, inform the police, fire brigade and civil protection service.
- FIRE (information for the driver in the event of fire)
Do not attempt to extinguish a fire involving the load.
- FIRST AID
On contact with the liquid, thaw frozen areas with water and then carefully remove
clothing. If the liquid comes into contact with the eyes, rinse with water. In the event of skin burns
cool with plenty of water as soon as possible.
Remove the casualty to the fresh air and seek medical attention.
- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE EMERGENCY SERVICES
Sewers must be covered, and basements and excavations evacuated.
In the event of fire warn everyone - explosion hazard.
If the load is exposed to fire, keep it cool by spraying with water. If possible, combat fire from a sheltered position.
Do not direct extinguisher at a flame of leaking gas. Direct extinguisher in the vicinity of the fire.
